So, what do the Aliens get up to ? We are the most active social
group in the area by far. We organise between three and six or even
seven events per week !
Many are regular repeating events and others
are just one-offs. Most events are hosted by John or Dean, but anyone
is free to arrange
an event for the benefit of everyone. Just put up a Yahoo poll
and wait for people to sign up. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

We organise an informal drinks night every Wednesday, alternating
between Rotterdam and Den Haag. The Wednesday drinks in Rotterdam
are organised in association with the Rotterdam People group. We
don't stick with one pub, but we have our favourites for the summer
and winter. We usually have dinner beforehand at the place where
we drink when we will meet up from 19:00 or so. Drinkers usually
arrive a little later at 20:00 til late. |

What better way to end the week than with a relaxing drink with the
Aliens. Actually, they are not always that relaxing as we often head
out to specific events on Fridays, such as jazz festivals and sometimes
parties too. We alternate Friday drinks between Delft and Den Haag.
The Den Haag drinks will not normally be held in the same week as
the Wednesday drinks, but there are exceptions of course for specific
events. Come check out the Friday crowd. There are some really great
pubs in Delft and Den Haag and we know where they all are :-) |

This is one of our most popular events which we run around every
two months. This always fills up quickly as we have to limit it to
about twenty people for logistical reasons. We normally have four
or five cooks who will prepare the food. The cooks eat for free
and the eaters normally pay only 10 Euros each for a great feed.
Each event will normally have a theme, such as Italian, Indian, Indonesian
etc. We have some great cooks
in LA so don't miss this event.or
your taste buds may never forgive you !

The Legal Aliens is not a dating group, but it has been known for
Aliens to get it together and there's nothing wrong with that. We
do our little bit to help point Cupid's arrow in the right direction
by organising a Singles night every now and again, where single eligible
Aliens can meet other single eligible Aliens in a relaxing environment.
We sometimes make a small charge and provide some food and snacks
for the evening and all you need to bring is yourself and a few drinks
for the night. Why spend 25 Euros on a Speed Dating night when you
can do it for free with LA ? |

Most Aliens are travelers of course, so in order
to satisfy that desire to explore the planet, we organise trips abroad
for any adventurous
Aliens that want to join in. We normally limit ourselves to Europe,
but that's not to say that we won't go further when organising future
trips. We also like to combine the trip with something a little cultural
too where we can. |

These are typically run on an ad-hoc basis when someone feels like
company at the cinema. Why watch a scary movie on your own when you
can have scary company to watch it with you :-) |

We periodically get together to play Poker for very
small sums of money. Nobody is going to lose the shirt off their backs.
This is
a completely free event, so you just need to bring anything you want
to eat or drink during the evening, as this will be hosted in someone's
home. Players of all standards are invited, from absolute beginners
to those that have made a living in Vegas :-) |

We have many members who appreciate fine wine and the pleasures of
good beer, so we periodically organise wine and beer tasting evenings
and sometimes we do both on the same night ! There is of course a
cost associated with these nights as alcohol and food is provided.
Some events are organised in association with the Aliens favourite
brewery, Klein Duimpje, where we may organise just a tasting or even
a beer meal event. These are always very popular evenings, so sign
up early. |

We organise many trips during the year to concerts and the Theatre,usually
in Amsterdam, Den Haag or Rotterdam. Aliens are usually responsible
for buying their own
ticket, or maybe the organiser will buy a batch of tickets so that
we can all sit together. Dinners are always popular too. Den Haag
is blessed with many fine restaurants and we do love to try them
out ! |

We regularly organise pool and snooker playing evenings for those
amongst us who like a more active event. These generally take place
on a Saturday evening at Delta Snooker Centrum, near Central Station
in the Hague. This is always a relaxed and sociable event and players
of all levels are welcome. Even if you have never played before or
you just want to come along to watch and cheer on the other players
you will be made very welcome. |
